Mainstreaming the National Greening Program

By Rey Anthony H. Chiu

On an isolated stretch of highway in the interior of Bohol, barangay officials coordinating a roadside tree planting project years ago could only scratch their heads in frustration.

The mahogany and g’melina trees which form part of a greening project in the barangay now lie in a useless pile, too small to be used for lumber and too insubstantial to put a government’s road widening project at bay. (mbcn/rahc/PIA7-Bohol)
